This presentation considers the implications of draft amended guidelines that propose a 16.7% increase on general damages. The webinar will further focus on legal costs and special damages inflation and the associated impact upon insurer indemnity spends. Finally the presentation will look at the role of the Injuries Resolution Board going forward together with updates on relevant case law in the area of occupier’s liability.

Meet David Kennedy, Partner, DAC Beachcroft

David has 17 years’ experience advising domestic and London Market insurer clients in respect of casualty and general liability litigation in the Republic of Ireland. He deals with both Circuit Court litigation together with high value catastrophic injury cases in the High Court. He has significant experience in dealing with a variety of other claims concerning defamation, false imprisonment, property damage and he also advises on the defence of criminal prosecutions. In addition, David manages bespoke TPA services for London Market insurer clients. He is dual qualified in the Republic of Ireland and England and Wales and has expertise in advising and translating the key differences between international jurisdictions and tailoring advice to clients accordingly. David is a member of Dublin Solicitors Bar Association Litigation Committee.
