The Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) is the statutory body with responsibility for licensing and regulating the property services sector in Ireland. Under the Property Services (Regulation) Act 2011 (the Act) one of the qualifying criteria for an applicant to obtain (under Section 30(2)(c)) and renew (under Section 35(4)(d)) their licence is that they must have valid Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII).
The Property Services (Regulation) Act 2011 (Professional Indemnity Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 (the Regulations) SI 699 of 2024 amends the previous PII Regulations SI 182 of 2012 and SI 161 of 2020 which set out the requirements of any PII policy which any person providing property services in Ireland must be have in place.
This presentation will give an overview of the amended regulations and the changes in the requirements for PII insurance for property services providers that they introduce.
Meet Maeve Hogan

Maeve was appointed as Chief Executive of the Property Services Regulatory Authority in
2015. A significant part of Maeve’s career has been with the Department of Justice where she
held senior managerial positions. In 2012, she was appointed as Chief Inspector with the
Private Security Authority (PSA) where she headed up its Regulatory Enforcement Division.
As the Regulator of property services providers, Maeve is committed to driving standards,
professionalism and compliance in the sector through placing a strong focus on stakeholder
and sector engagement and ensuring consumers are protected in their dealings with property
services providers.
